From the Tele:
If we ever needed reminded, this just shows how run-down and without redemption Inverclyde is. When I was a boy, figures as bad as this didn't even appear for the whole of Scotland and probably England too. It really makes a mockery of the Undertaker's, " A great place to bring up children". Well no it isn't, every time you watch your kids go out, you never know if they're coming back. It's time the people took this area back from the street vermin and their equally verminous families.

I remember hearing about a clown called, 'Wolf' Docherty of whom it was said he murdered someone and was found, 'not proven'. When he was released he announced that he had actually been guilty but the double jeopardy in the then legal system meant that he couldn't be tried again.
Apparently he used to go around the lesser than salubrious pubs bragging about his deed and affecting a menacing stance in order to extort a clear wine or two from frightened patrons.
He was the only local murderer I could recall until some bastard from Largs forced a wee boy from the East End to eat strychnine after he had sexually assaulted him. Now it seems there's a murder every weekend. Who would have believed that two members of the Doyle family would get murdered???
"Wonderful place to bring up kids"? Keep your head in the clouds Mr McKenzie and Mr McNeil, you have achieved what 300 bombers couldn't in May 1941...you fucked Greenock!
