Devils advocate argument - the Queen is our Head of State and it is only right and proper that we celebrate her 60 years on the throne....

my argument - 60 years is more than enought for anyone and if she was a normal bod she would be retiring ...an heriditary monarch is outmoded, outdated and undemocratic. It really should be abolished...this is slightly a more fundamental argument than worrying about the ephemera that surround the institution.

I agree Jim and Fed. Ok, she's had bereavements and family strife but we are reliably informed that she doesn't like talking and thinking of bad news which is a luxury none of us can afford.

No one has ever told this woman, "no", she has experienced nothing but deference and sycophancy since the day she was born.

I have met her and several members of her family and I can confirm that she is cold and facile. The only member of her family who is happy to converse informally is Charles. The rest of them and Andrew in particular are nasty, obnoxious bastards who if you met them in normal life, you'd tell to f*** off. Actually I did have the pleasure of saying that to HRH Lt The Prince Andrew when he told me how to do my job, I would have decked the arsehole if a burly lolly hadn't restrained me.

I am spectacularly bored with all the BBC coverage with remote broadcasts from the Royal Cludgie. I hope it buckets down on tonight's so-called concert. I hope the dye from Cliff Richard's hair runs in streaks down his face and I hope Tom Jones anal sphincter spasms and he shits all over the stage. Gary Barlow should sue his parents for not having his boss-eye fixed properly when he was young...........parasites the lot of them.

I haven't watched anything on the tv regarding the celebrations cause I think it all a big waste of money for a outdated monarchy which has no place in modern society.
