All I hear from those who praise him is that he, 'does a lot for youth'. I'd rather he stood up for Gourock and Inverclyde rather than his wee football team. I have found to be personally rather surly but then I don't really know him. I fear Gourock has always asked for what it got, there's too many little groups with self-interest. The man, his name escapes me, who owned the wee electrical shop seemed to have lots of ideas and then he set up a dodgy trust with other dodgy people and it all ended in tears. The Tele had a field day! McMorland didnt like the man

That's the name! Mrs Tiddles and I went into his shop one day to buy something and he engaged me in conversation about what's wrong with Gourock. He told me that he and some other locals including Mr Toma had formed a trust to ensure that Gourock would get redeveloped. I just nodded (I'm rather quieter in public than you'd imagine ). I got the impression that he saw himself as the uncrowned king of the town. Silly old man, I see his shop is gone and replaced by an, 'art shop' or some such shite. Has he left the area?

well the telerag turned up today LATE....they took some pictures at least 5 of them...wonder how many they will print....jocky is to send on pictures of what the dam was like before this happened ie, wildlife, ducks, herons, boats, yachts ect...... we are also getting in contact with the wildlife organisation as they have a bit more clout regards the wildlife... we found out today that yobs have been stoning the swans and the cignets because they cant get on the island on the nest due to the lack of water so are sleeping on the stony shore, we also have a fox that goes round the dam too..... yea fedup, the water is SLOWLY going up and i mean slowly.....we reckon that it wont be full until nearly xmas if that....we need 64 thousand gallons of water to fill the dam.....one of the guys was able to work it out for us and we are no where near that...... although i have been able to put my yacht out, its getting that even the yachts wont be able to sail as when the water comes up we have to walk out further and its too muddy to do that so it becomes dangerous... we have a race called SCOTS OF GREENOCK which runs every year and has done for over 100 yrs...we cant run that as the boats that sail cost over £1000 and they could end up being blown onto the shore were all the stones are....although we are remote controlled that is only for control of the rudder...we sail with the wind just like proper yachts.... keep your eyes open for the updates

I think the sudden desire to, 'empty and clean' the dam is suspicious especially when they knew that there was no way they could refill it other than to wait until the rain did the trick. That land is VERY valuable.

yea the dam has to rely on rainwater as the valve that operated the inflow was damaged years ago by the council relaying the road....cement was poured down the part were the pipe was...as far as i know and this was murdieston street.... the councillor for the area is keith brooks who views onto the dam....i think the guy that arranged the telerag informed him though he can view onto the dam..
the guy who is in charge of the parks is a right pain...gerry wilson....he has a personel thing with the club and does his best to bugger us all up every now again.....it was lowered for a clean up but to be honest it didnt happen.......he said that they removed 35 bags of rubbish from the dam but the guys were there and if they took away 2 bags that would have been a miracle.....the place is still in the same state as it was though we did weed it as the water was in a state with green agly... we have the name of the reporter that the pics have to be sent too so she will get them....jocky already printed them out and we showed her them but she asked if we could just send her them on her email and she will have a look to see what she could use.....we have thousands of pics of the dam with the boats and wildlife so will be passing some of them on... we had loads of ducks ect on the dam....now we have 2.....we used to have loads of couts now we have 2....we used to have herrons on the dam....now we have none.....we used to have golden eyes on the water...now we have none.........who is at fault.....the bloody council.......
due to those idiots we have lost a full season of sailing, open days and very important racing days were the guys travel from all over the country to the dam and this is a really big occasion....it cant be sailed anywhere else but greenock....its a shame as its a fantastic sight when you see up to 20 yachts in the water... yea the land is worth a lot of money but we have a lease for 100 yrs though its up in the next 3 yrs so they really cant do anything at the moment...then again its the council...our club is the oldest in scotland over 125 yrs old...

Hopefully this matter will be highlighted and dealt with. You would think a councillor would want to grab a bit of positive publicity if the Tele are involved now?

It's just a pity this wasn't highlighted a week or two ago before the election but then, I gather the committee of this club are not ones for doing the obvious thing.
