It appears that Inverclyde's intellectual giant, Cllr Robert Moron is now our Provost. So now we have a wee, incoherent half-wit and a lumbering buffoon as our civic representatives. This bizarre combination will do nothing to attract interest in the towns from investors. Let's face it, if you were a large company looking for a place to invest in and you met met Moron and Wilson, would you?
Let's just see how impartial little Moron is in debate, he is supposed to be above party politics but I bet he votes with Labour EVERY time. Wilson will vote with anyone who gives him a wee directorship, convenorship or pies.

They usually appoint/elect a new Provost and Deputy Provost at the start of a new council. Clearly Wilson exacted the retention of his office as part of his coalition deal. That tells you lots about the man.

From what I gather Ahlfield has consistently voted for Labour in council votes and is therefore a de facto Labour councillor, it's just that the residents of Gourock have just not seen past his self-promotion. The same applies to old Wilson who'd vote for Be'elzeebub if it got him the Deputy Provost's job and a seat on a few boards.

What about Tiddles for Provost? He seems to have lots of good things to say about Inverclyde?

Seriously, when I retire (quite soon), I'll be RETIRED. I have crammed a helluva lot into my 59 years, now it's time for Mr and Mrs Tiddles (and the cats) and Granny!

Oh yes, I'd rather eat ground glass than be a councillor. I was actually asked by a few people to stand but it's not for me. In any case, I'd have been an independent in ALL senses of the word.
