Has this been a fair election? Well I'm not so sure, I have heard some rumours from well-connected sources that a certain party known for compulsive mendacity has been pockling the postal ballots. The scenario runs like this:
KINDLY 'LOCAL ACTIVIST'
Now then Mrs McOldwummin, I think you'd be better with a postal vote to save you dragging yourself out on polling date, it's much easier and I'll help you fill it in because it's a very complicated form.
MRS McOLDWUMMIN
Aw thanks son, that's great, ma auld legs are no whut they were and ah'm on twelve different tablets.
The Postal voting ballot duly arrives....
MRS McOLDWUMMIN
Aw son ah've jist got this awfy form an' a jist dinna know where tae start wi' it, ye'll huv tae help me wi' it.
'LOCAL ACTIVIST'
That's no bother hen, here let me dae it fur ye an' you can sign it.
The ever helpful 'local activist' duly completes the postal ballot form and guess who they select as the preferred candidates? Yes, that's right, the Liar Party. Thank goodness there are lots of wee, 'centres' that the poor wee folk can go into and get unbiased help.
Year end: 2012
From the Tele
"In shock news, the council have announced that several local, public funded centres are to close as part of a swinging round of cuts aimed at dealing with this year's devastating council accounts". Local yap and spokesperson for anything to do with the Labour Party, HRH The Princess Nellie of Drumshantie has said that, "it's aw the fault o' that SNP crowd at Holyrood, they'll no' let us clat in oor wee taxpayer funded centres".
