From the Tele:
Well there ya go....and before Daft Dunky opens his trap, it was Labour who set up NHSGG&C. Far too big for its boots and far too Glasgow-centric. Fancy a wee trip twice a day to the Suffering General to see your granny?
Very soon the big building will close and the wee Larkfield will become the hospital with only emergency triage and clinics. The poor benighted folk who normally get dumped in Larkfield will find themselves in Kincaid House aka P B Wright Ltd

God knows Linda. When I started here, I could send bloods off in the morning and the results would be back the next day or the day after at most. Now it averages at least 7 days. The odd things is, in those days most of the lab work was manual but nowadays much of it is automatic, you'd think that would speed it up. NHSGG&C = NFFP

there should be a better service for bloods as you would think in this day and age they would be able to do it a lot quicker.... just think if they shut the IRH they could turn it into a fancy hotel, flats or a prison...well it does have the right look.........the worst thing they ever did was to get rid of all the hospitals here, that was when the rot set in

Yes and it obviously hasn't occurred to them that IRH's catchment area extends far beyond Inverclyde into North Ayrshire, Mid-Argyll and Bute.
Each district general hospital should have its own Board that is accountable to the inhabitants of the area it serves, not some collection of the so-called, 'great and good' in far off Glasgow.
It was bad enough when people had to trail to Bridge of Weir to visit family and friends, how the hell can anyone get to the Suffering General given the lamentable public transport and lack of parking not to mention two hours travelling each way?
Someone should make the Board travel by McCorleone's each day to Gartnavel and make we Kapasi give up his taxi rides.

tidds people will never be able to afford the fares, imagine your child in hospital and you cannot afford to see it, aye and the bus fares would likely blow your head off.

get rid of all the pen pushers that are getting big wages and put the money that is saved back into the hospital and make it better than it is, the people of inverclyde and area's deserve better than the crap that is getting dished out to them
