away to join the Art-ful dodger, or got out before the shit hit the fan, puts me in mind of a lawyer who became a councillor, seen the books and realised she had other commitments.

My worry is the SNP get into power, and then are stuck with the black-hole mess the labour rats fleeing the ship leave behind…a la Aberdeen.
The term "poisoned chalice" could come into play!

I heard that she was told to clear her desk by the end of the month by the Board and immediately after the decision was rubber stamped the Chair and 2 Board members resigned (the inference being that they had done their job).

i think as tenents we all should be told what is going on....when they have their meetings none of the board are allowed to say what took place...its like a secret society at RH

The whole idea behind housing associations was for tenants to be, 'stakeholders' with a full say in how their housing should be administered. What actually happened was the usual suspects sneaked in and any tenant participation was taken over by, 'uncle (or auntie) Toms' who just went native under the influence of the overpaid and incompetent management team.
It's time for a rethink...yet another McConnell piece of hasty legislation.

Dear Not the Tele Commentators
After reading your posts, I feel that I had to at least say something in the defence of the three board members that left Riverclyde Homes and put the record straight on at least one or two things.
Firstly, the three board members resigned nearly over a month before the Greenock Telegraph printed the story. So, what readers were reading was very old news.
This you may find hard to believe, but the three board members that did leave were brilliant board members who fought tirelessly for the tenants of RCH. They didn’t receive any payment for being on the board and gave up their free time and applied their expertise within their role, for the greater good of the tenants. However, when good folk do this and feel they are being ignored, then they know when, to have good sense and move on.
The three board members did not force the Chief Executive to resign, that decision was taken well after the three board members left.
Please at least give some respect to these good people who did try their best to make changes and a difference for the betterment of the tenants or RCH.

as a tenent of riverclyde homes when it comes to a board keeping things secret, not printing the minutes of their meetings i find them all sus.....i have no time for the board members who spend their time at public meetings ie AGM's patting themselves on the back telling everyone that they have done a good job when we all know better....
