I don't know him from Adam but if his comments about a bridge across the Clyde were reported accurately then he is less than up to the job. Mind you, not being up to the job in the council is the sort of thing that goes unnoticed and I think I'd prefer him to wee Moron or McCormick.

Innes is a decent chap -I know him well enough.
His bit about bridges was designed to open a dialogue and debate - a bit of blue sky thinking if you will
