From the Tele:Right then, will this doubtful document include the plans, now well in advance to employ parking enforcement company, Civil Enforcement Ltd to oversee all parking arrangements in the district? www.ce-service.co.uk/This 'company' is yet another bunch of shysters who play the, 'kid on parking ticket game'. They leave a spurious, official looking, 'ticket' on your car and then literally demand money with menaces from you. I wonder which of our councillors will be getting a wee brown parcel for this. The problem with this crap is that if the SNP take control or become the largest party of the council, the contracts will have been signed and we would be stuck with them. Action needs to be taken NOW to prevent this at all costs. Don't fooled by wee Moron's, "decriminalised parking enforcement", he means extortionists. For the record, these so-called tickets are unenforceable in Scotland and if anyone gets one they should ignore it. Do NOT under ANY circumstances reply to their threatening letters no matter what they say. We give this bunch of scum our taxes to provide a service to us, we have a right to expect to be able to park our cars where the law allows. By the law I mean not on double yellow lines or the various other Statutory no-parking places. forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=1251735

There is a total difference between "decriminalising parking" under Scots Law and the information provided by this mob on their web-site.
Their website deals only with parking fines issued for parking on private land outside of Scotland. This kind of nonsense is not legally enforceable in Scotland.
BUT if the parking is "de-criminalised" that is a totally different ball-game, then the coonsil ( or their contractors) have the not only the legal right to issue such tickets but can legally enforce them too.
This is how it operates currently, in for example, Glasgow, Embra and Aberdeen.

Sad thing is we need some level of enforcement, and Strathclyde Police have withdrawn the ticket wardens - there will have to be enforcement officers for/on behalf of the Council. The only question is whether they're council officers, employed to police the parking situation, or some private parking company, hired under a no-doubt horrific contract by the Council, employing goons to make a screeching profit, with the nominal aim of parking-enforcement...

Even if the council "de-criminalise" parking. The coonsil wardens wont be neshasharily able to stop or ticket all illegal parking

Yes, there must be some control over illegal parking but it should not be turned into a milk cow for the benefit of, 'certain' people. Parking enforcement is big business and tends to attract, 'undesirable' elements. Mind you, if they do bring in these scumbags, it'll spell the end of their stinking Soak Mall and Mrs Jephcote will have to find another, 'profitable' enterprise to play with.

They really should bring back the traffic wardens as people seem to just ditch their cars with gay abandon. On double yellows and on street corners etc I am starting to think that double yellow lines mean 'Cardwell Road Co-op parking only'

one place the police should clear is the trucks parked at the scrape yard at the crazy junction bottom of larkfield road, how no one has ran into the back of them yet is just luck
