What they actually mean is that the council pursued a policy of putting, 'problem' tenants into the buildings and in the end, no one would go near them. Add to that, RCH's policy of not maintaining their housing stock and you have a recipe for dereliction.

I fear I am rapidly developing a strong dislike of RCH and it's administration.

totally agree there moonshadow. Now all those lovely problem tennants are is brand new houses and the good tennants can be found mostly is substandard housing and still waiting repairs

my mum in law lives across the street from that tenement and i bet you she is glad that its demolished as it was an eye sore and there was so many times she had to phone the police due to vandalism

My daughter was in one of these and believe me we lived in fear because of the amount of electrical surges that blew out just about every electrical appliance she had, there were bare wires in the stairwell water running down the stairwell when it rain , the place was a mess . That was inside the building , I would not like to tell you the filth that was outside it like needles and filthy pampers all gifts from the undesirables
