inverclydenow.com/news/local/6515-port-town-centre-car-park-given-go-aheadIt's about time this eyesore was torn down but I'm not so sure about the, A decorative wall and railings will be built around the car park with an archway for pedestrians at the Princes Street side.
A community-designed corner feature is also proposed and this will be submitted as a separate planning application.Let's just stick to the car park and for God's sake, drop this madness about the park and ride at Highholm...who will use it? Which bus company will provide the, 'ride' component? Can you guess?

Hmmmm, you might have a point there sammy, I forgot how close the station was to Highholm. Why then did they not simply call it a car park? ? And why is Network Rail or Scotrail not proving it instead of us?

We took a trip to Blairgowrie and Dunkeld/Birnam a couple of weeks ago. Perthshire is a nice area and the crime rate is low although house prices are astronomical. I'll probably do a bit of locum work for a year or two to keep my hand in but then again, maybe not. I am kinda pissed off with medicine these days, too much bloody paperwork and not enough support and also people are a pain in the arse, they treat us like shit nowadays. Wife fancied Arran but I don't want to be at the mercy of Calmac. One thing is certain, I'll not be going south of the border!

Although in saying that I know someone who lives in Crieff and it's rather pleasant - it reminded of a big Kilmacolm. Personally I love the west coast - up by Oban and around there - just a pity the weather tends to be crap

We had originally made extensive plans to move to New Zealand but my father died in December and my mother came to stay with us. We thought it best to cancel and there also was some opposition from my youngest son. I really do want to live in an independent Scotland so I suppose somewhere a little, 'reserved' might be best for us.
Inverclyde drives me crazy, it is like the aftermath of a nuclear war and it can only get worse before hopefully it gets better.

Inverclyde drives me crazy, it is like the aftermath of a nuclear war and it can only get worse before hopefully it gets better. Thats why I'm happy living on its periphery - we would like to buy, as a family a pharmacy - a proper community one in a rural(not to small) area but they are like rocking horse shit and move to that. We had the option of taking over the new one in Millport, but the level of animosity there is a bit much as it was a dispensing doctors practice and some of the locals have been wound up into a bit of a tizzy by the resident GPs - you wouldn't believe it - death threats against original applicant a few years ago etc - so kicked that one into touch

I like family pharmacies and I HATE Lloyds and big beasts like them. The Millport one was a tricky beast with James Semple et al all dipping beaks in.

The lad done is pre-reg training with james and his brother brendan, the dispensary in Millport turned over around £400, 000 in just prescriptions alone, with no qualified registered staff serving. The lad doesn't like Boots/Lloyds/CooP type multiples either but as you know, trying to buy a going concern is nigh on impossible, due to availability of them coming up for sale - we live in hope - it's one of the few "retail" businesses you can actually get a business loan for in the region of 100% Not only that, it gets me out of working in IT

Yea, they've been sewn up well and truly by the big boys and all their diabolical, 'data-mining'.

Yea, they've been sewn up well and truly by the big boys and all their diabolical, 'data-mining'. My pal is the pharmacist in Wyse's in John Wood St, has been since he finished Uni - I remember as a lad the chemist being a community facility - just like it should be - were the pharmacist is a in with the bricks and knows everyone and provided a service

Yep now it's all targets and stealing people's sensitive data. I am dreading this smart card idea coming to pass. It'll give the big boys carte blanch to fleece us all.

the chemist i use is either the health centre on or mostly the one in regent street...co-op...i feel they are friendly and will give advice....boots is rubbish....they once gave me tablets for my migraines and i was to take them 4 times a day....my god i couldnt stay awake.....i went to the doctor to tell him the reaction and it turned out that they gave me sleeping tablets by mistake....4 of those bloody things every 4 hours..... this was when the big chap was working there, i think he might have been the manager..anyway, when i showed him them he nearly hit the roof and told me to pick anything in the store as an apology....Mmmmm.....i just asked for my tablets and walked away.....i think i might have still been under the influence....if that had been now their feet wouldnt have touched the ground.... my mum got tablets from boots and within a day she took ill....turned out that they had gave her such a strong dosage of the tablet instead of the right one....wouldnt use that shop again
