from the GREENOCK TELE
police hunting the killer of jack doyle have dug up grounds and doing a fingertip search near were the boy was murdered.
an officer leading the inquiry said that they are positive that the person that killed jack will be caught,
there have been further searches carried out around the area in connection with this murder inquiry

There are quite a few things I'd like to say to this but I'll refrain lest it jeopardises the investigation. When hopefully whoever did this is caught, I think there should be an independent inquiry into this handling of this case by the police, particularly in the first couple of hours after the incident was reported.

yea...the police are called, they find blood in the close but they dont go and do a search...i find that quite funny.........if i found blood in our close i would want to know were it came
from so i would be looking for anyone lying around....
5 weeks have passed and still nothing........god help that poor family

exactly tidds.....i hope they are keeping the pressure up on the police, the police here are only good for one thing........catching the cold..

saw the police on Friday, on their hands and knees searching.......................for what, all the lost weeks, the cold trail, I agree that there should be a inquiry into the handling of the case, but then it is Greenock.
I reckon the police will be searching Timbutoo, or the Amazon for leads, how else will they get a wee holiday. Not a ounce of commonsense.
What worries me is that there must be a lot of fear if no one has said anything , sense that the big boys are around.

from what i can understand on the tele rag, this is the first time they have done this search....does anyone know if they have had his funeral yet?

i suppose they will be hanging on till they get the person/person's for the court as i understand they have the right to get another autopsy even though one has been done.....
bad enough the family cant get closure but my god i just cant imagine what that family are going through

I heard that the police had done a google search in order to find the killer, but came up empty handed.

talking to one of the women who live and in the area of the murder and, they said there was a meeting with the residents and the big wig was there with his gold braid, who informed them that everything was being done and more police were patroling the area and they should feel safer. One wee woman stood up and said she did not feel safer infact she felt worse because there was more police and as far as she was concerned it tells her that there is something more wrong. Did this not tell the big one that the people here don't trust the police.

they havent a clue and i think they are just going through the motions..if they get this person or persons male or female i cant see it for some time...
