EXACTLY!!!! A bunch of back-patting tossers. Let Primark and some of the Pawn shops sponsor it. McCabe sees this as another vote winner....too late Flash old boy.... too bloody late!!!!!

We have a sports personailty of the year in Inverclyde, what event couch potatoe or the shoplifters 100m dash.

It's nothing but a PR exercise, the decision had probably taken place last year.

So, the Council are chipping in 5k for an awards event which itself is to raise money to support young sportspeople who may be able to compete in the Commonwealth Games.
I would rather the Council said "scale back the event to meet the budget you do have and we'll chip the 5k into a fund which will actually benefit the kids rather than pay for an event which might not even raise 5k."
p.s. Inverclyde Leisure own the Town Hall so they obviously don't have to pay any hire costs.

Inverclyde Leisure own the Town Hall so they obviously don't have to pay any hire costs.You would think that what with them working in partnership but my experience of I leisure is that they will say it’s in partnership but still expect someone to pick up the tab for the cost of the town hall as they do for covering the ice of the discos ect
