I agree that the power station development is a non-starter in the short to medium term (5-15 years). In the longer term I could see how it could happen as part of the further development of 'commutersville/workingfrom-homesville
I reckon that the recent application is just Scottish Power keeping their previous planning application 'live' to maintain the value of the land. Pretty sure that applications stay 'live' for 5 years and that it was 5 years ago the villagers paraded through Inverkip and Wemyss Bay with burning torches and pitch forks, shouting "Down With This Sort of Thing."
Didn't catch your previous comments re a smoke screen for something worse. What particularly had you in mind?

Inverclyde local plan 2005, takes this development into account, it's nigh on impossible to refuse planning permission for something already accounted for. That's wht the community council aren't really fighting the original plan for around 400 houses, but they will the updated request for @600/700 houses This development will happen eventually, the war on that is over already, a few related battles and skirmishes can still be won though
