sam, not all computer users have the awareness to recognise the scam - it can soyund quite plausible and it was only an inherent distrust of phone calls that led the gent to give me a call...

It's nothing to do with being computer literate but to do with being gullible and not thinking about the situation. The same folk would be taken in by any phone scam, door step con-men etc Jeezo despite all the warnings over the years people are still being taken in at their door by some erse saying they're from the water board or wanting tae fix yer roof fur thousands |
