There has to be more to this story than this, the New Roxburgh has been there since 1971, long before the Salvation Army built their coven there.

Personally I would tell the Sally Ann to bugger off, they are twisted, narrow minded bastards who probably only number about ten adherents. The presence of an off-sales will have no impact upon an AA meeting, if someone wants to drink, there are many more such emporia to assist so why ban this one?

Only name I recognise is Tommy Harwood -who once part owned Harwoods bar ( by coincidink, also at the licensing board too) with his brother. He also owned, I'm led to believe the old Alexanders site on Finnart St which became a block of flats

It tells me that they want to develop the site and sell it on, selling it on with a license in place makes it a lot more attractive

Y'see Sammy, I just KNEW you would find it all out! Yes, the Harwood name jumped out and bit me.....says it all really. I also agree with your suspicions and perhaps that is why so many objections were made although the Salvation Army would object to a dug fartin'!
