www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/health/msp-jim-hume-bid-introduce-1917252Every day I used to get them coming in trailing their wee peely wally weans behind them. "Oh doctor, Englebert has got an awfy bad chist, he's up a' night coughin' ah'm nearly roon the bend wi' it". As they sat opposite me, I could smell stale cigarette smoke from their clothes. I would ask if they smoked and they'd get all defensive. "Ah need it fur ma nerves, ah only smoke wan or two a day, the weans are used tae it", yet no matter how I tried to explain that smoking in close proximity to a child is dangerous, they simply would not accept that they were being a bad parent. I have no problem with people who smoke as long as they don't do it over me or over their children. Another problem I used to have is with mothers whose kids suffered from asthma yet they had the house filled with a menagerie of animals. Several dogs, cats, mice, guinea pigs and you name it would be in close contact with children all day. Usually the caring mummy would be a stranger to cupboard where the Hoover lived. We have kept cats for years but my wife and my mother are constantly scrubbing the place from top to bottom and our cats get groomed every day (despite their little oriental protests!). I used to hate going into houses where the places stank of wet, dirty dog and smelly cats and usually they complained of chest problems..ah well.....if people won't police themselves, some else has to.

I stopped smoking about 11 years ago and apologized to all my family, I never had any lung problems until recently and had to go for respiratory tests at the western infirmary ( terrible place to get to ) all because of medication. Canny win for losing , but I do agree smoking is terrible both my mother and father were chain smokers,so I was brought up on Capstan full strength, I think that was the name of them. Nice to read that the IRH are going to stop the smoking at the main doors.

She must be in her late eighties. The last time I saw her she was quite frail looking but as far I can gather, her gub is still fully functional. What worries me is that when she eventually falls off her perch, the Tele and the Labour Party will have an orgy of grief. It'll be like the Thatcher thing all over again.
Still, we mustn't wish bad things upon people unless it's the likes of, IDS, Gideon, Fox..the ENTIRE Tory Party (except Annabel Goldie), Blair, Harriet Harmon, Hazel Blears, Rupert Murdoch, Kelvin McKenzie, Ian McKenzie (aka BIGOT), Nigel Farage and EVERY member of UKIP (stands for United Kingdom is Pish), The editorial staff of the Greenock Telegraph, EVERYONE at the Daily Mail, the Barclay Brothers, ALL senior management at the BBC, EVERYONE at BBC Scotland News, Kirsty Wark, Johann Lamont, Richard Baker, Hugh Henry, Jackie Bailey...ok, pretty much the entire Scottish Labour group (I would let Dunky off because he is simple minded).....
Who would you like to see added to the list?
