It really is good of Duncan to share his views with us. Now unfortunately, the Tele have buried the sage words of Mr McNeil behind their paywall but I think I can guess the gist of what he is saying.
He is probably suggesting that it is quite likely that A&E services will close under the SNP Government and he'll also be suggesting that he will mount a vigorous campaign against any reduction in services at IRH.
First of all, the expression, "the status quo is not an option"[sic] can mean many things and until Dunky knows what it means, he should keep his rubbery gub shut.
Oh yes and will you Dunky be out there sticking your neck out and threatening to resign if they do close A&E? Did you do that over the Maternity services closure? Did you stomp into Jacky McConnell's office and say, "Look Jacky boy, if this goes ahead, I'm resigning over it and I'll force a bye-election?" No, you certainly didn't, you were quite content to let Liz Roders take the initiative.

Where was your voice when YOUR Holyrood government set up that monolithic mess, NHSGG&C? Wasn't it that oafish moron, Andy Kerr and auld sweetums, Malcolm Chisholm who dreamt that up? Did you complain to him? Did you question anything your lot said or did?
You see, a man of principal who really cared for his constituents would have quit. Did you think it right that you sat there whilst maternity and other vital services were cut and removed to a boggin charnel house that makes IRH look like the Mayo Clinic? Ah but then, new suits are quite procey nowadays and the expenses do come in handy. There are also no positions for ex-shop stewards who contributed to the decline of shipbuilding on the lower reaches.
So in the meantime, stop scaremongering and playing political games over the NHS or better still, sack the faceless creatures who pull your strings and write your outbursts so that we can see that you truly have feet of clay.
Lest anyone forget, under Labour, several Casualty units across the country were to close, parking charges were being phased in for patients and staff alike. It took Nicola Sturgeon a mere week to put a stop to all that rubbish. When they planned to charge for parking at IRH, you scarcely uttered a whimper.
Now Dunky, here's my advice, go off and don't make any more comments until you leave Holyrood, stop using seriously ill people who are having drug supply problems as a whip to hit the SNP with, you're not fooling anyone but yourself and your rag pick party. Just bide your time until Flash Harry McCabe or that rather strange lad, McColgan attempt to replace you.
It really is a pity that post-Levinson there wasn't any form of control over overt political bias in the press. If there had been, the Tele would have had to go out there and find REAL stories and not just the ones that BIGOT tells Baxter over a canter along the Esplanade or falls from the grief-stricken Facebook pages of attention seeking idiots.

MSP Duncan McNeil says any moves to cut services like A&E at Inverclyde Royal will meet with unified opposition.
