From Inverclyde Now:
LARGS Lifeboat was launched to help a small vessel off Meigle, Skelmorlie, which had engine failure and was taking on water late on Saturday afternoon. As the water was not entering quickly it was decided that the vessel could be towed to Largs Yacht Haven where it was made secure. Meanwhile, a lifeboat, from Helensburgh, was sent to the aid of a small cabin cruiser reported in difficulties between Greenock, Helensburgh and Kilcreggan on Friday morning. The vessel was safely escorted to Cardwell Bay, Gourock.
There are too many fools putting to see in sub-standard vessels. I bet they had no insurance. They are putting themselves, their passengers and the RNLI in danger out of sheer selfishness and stupidity.

Yep and it's time we did something about it. Years ago, a bunch of drunken scum rammed our boat and did a fair bit of damage to the strakes. No insurance and none of them knew port from starboard. If I had had a gun, I'd have blown the bastards out of the water.
