It is surely no coincidence that the Tories are in power and we have to have food banks. In 2013, in a developed nation we have people so poor that they literally have to beg for food.
It flies in the face of the whole, 'benefit scrounger' ethos, clearly benefits are not high enough nor properly targeted. Of course, "we are all Thatcherites now".
This is where I become a bit confused. What the hell is that pish all about? What happened to, "Hey, I like what you are doing, can I help" followed by, "Sure, drop in and we'll show you the ropes"?
This Volunteer Centre is a nice little earner for somebody or several somebodies. It's also forms part of the Bristow Empire, need more be said?
Now you all know I am no fan of God-bothering and fundamental versions in particular but in this instance we see a genuinely Christian effort to help less fortunate fellow beings. Why then can't the Elim Church not do their own recruiting? I mean to say, how much bloody training is required to hand our boxes of Sugar Puffs??
My advice would be to ditch this squalid black industry and do it yourselves. Who in their right mind would go to the bother of completing an, 'application pack' or attending an interview in order to be ALLOWED to do good works? After all, did Jesus contract out the loaves and fishes or the raising of Lazarus?

Lots of cash flying about there I think. These people are nothing but plague carrying fleas feeding off the blood of the people of Scotland. Banish the bastards.
I swear I have lived too long, the world has gone mad.

Opportunities are available to anyone regardless of age or experience and interested parties are encouraged to apply to become part of the team. Successful applicants would undergo an interview before then being trained on the operation of the project. Application packs can be obtained from the Volunteer Centre, Dalrymple Street and more information can be found by calling The i58 Project office on 01475 787177.
