www.inverclydenow.com/today/9028-tenants-urged-to-get-involved-with-river-clyde-homesI hope you will forgive me if I have got this wrong but wasn't the idea of transferring the running of social housing to Housing Associations meant to allow tenants to have a say over how their homes were run? From what I see, and again you'll correct me, these Housing Associations are little cabals run by overpaid, 'managers' and their actions rubber are stamped by some tame, 'Uncle Tom' people's representative who responds well to flattery and buffet lunches (rather like St Nell). When social housing was run by local authorities, they were accountable to council officials and elected officers. If you had a problem, and lets face it, you usually had, you complained to your Councillor. Now we have these secretive little outfits where the poor bastards who have to live in their decaying, badly maintained hovels are treated as serfs and subjected to threats if they question anything. There must be some government initiative afoot otherwise they wouldn't be doing all this window dressing...I smell a BIG rat here.
