Aren't you just sick of reading about Gourock and what it wants and doesn't want? It's always the same, the self-interested morons of that, 'Traders' clique and the mis-informed banality of the so-called Community Council tell everyone else what they are to have or not have.

Well, it's a lot of money to waste so why bother?

You think they're bad - you should look at Millport - biggest bunch of lemon-sookers I've came across. They have a community council and various other groups - all containing the same folk

They moaned a while back about not having a petrol station on the island - but they are the self same fannies who complained when someone wanted to open a small one on Cumbrae and forced it to never happen - yet they still moan about having no petrol station

Wow! What a bunch of gits, little self-appointed twats who wag the dog's tail. I was surprised to note that there's an Eaglesham one as well. These things are always run by either old biddies with nothing better to do and weird younger people with their own, 'agenda'. Community Councils are a waste of taxpayer's money. An ex-colleague of mine who lived in Gourock told me that when the Council put proposals out for, 'community consultation', they asked for the Community Council's views rather than the public and of course, the narrow and often very partisan policies of the CC simply rubber-stamped the proposals.

Millport had a petrol station, but hardly ever used it and it cost more to have the petrol brought to the island and drivers brought their petrol in Largs, through lack of clients the petrol station closed and the minions still moan as they think that someone should work all day for nothing. As for community councils well, I dont know if they still run the Grieve rd and Fancy farm one as they had for many many years been run by the same people. There are very few well run community councils in Inverclyde and amazingly so , loads of them go away for week-ends and days to learn about " community councils " and how to run one. I suppose it is better than a Sun holiday.
