From Inverclyde Now:
Hmmmm, I think we can all guess who will be successful with their applications. Has the Bristow Dynasty a presence yet or is this their big chance for the big money?
I would close this vile quango down NOW and send each of them back to the rat runs where they belong and then I'd send the Accounts Commission in to see what was going on.

The board make up of Ri can be found here: - riversideinverclyde.com/background-to-ri/ri-board-membership-2010/11.html Although the page does only relate to 2010/11...perhaps updating their website is not part of their regeneration policy! You really do not need the accounts commission either to check their progress - the Freedom of Information Act can allow you to ask pertinant questions. For example, as of May 2012, RI claimed: - Jobs Safeguarded – 454 New Jobs to Inverclyde – 170 Targeted Training and Recruitment - 34 Construction Jobs - 126 Compare the stated numbers above with their intention over the 10 year development plan... •Gross employment of 2,600 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) jobs If anyone would like a copy of their full response then please feel free to drop me a note and I will pass it on. I would also contend that they are being over generous to themselves regarding some of their claim - I have a feeling that the Council Economic development Department could have done the job just as well, if not better...

How do they define a safe guarded job? Jobs Safeguarded – 454 A large contribution to this figure (150) was a result of the ri’s role in securing the regeneration of a large redundant building on Crown Street just off the Town Centre in Greenock and the subsequent relocation of Inverclyde Jobs. Additional contributions have been the relocation of 210 Cigna jobs from the company’s HQ at Knowe Road in Greenock to Pottery Street ( This excludes the additional 50 new jobs that will be created as detailed below). In addition 49 jobs have been safeguarded to date through the property assistance scheme that ri run to assist tenants in our property portfolio who are struggling through the prevailing economic conditions. ;D
