KEMPOCK Street One-Way Petition

KEMPOCK Street Traders’ Forum have started a petition asking if Kempock Street, Gourock, should be one-way. A controversial one-way system is proposed as part of redevelopment plans The petition is available in most shops in Kempock Street from today (Wednesday). Scott Canning of the forum said: “This petition will allow both parties, for or against, to air their views.”

What exactly is it these bastards actually want? The Council must be ringing it hands with glee at the thought that they can spend the money earmarked for this on other things. And if I may ask, when did Gourock Traders (are there any?) become the final arbiter of all things in Gourock?

The last time I drove along Kempock Street it was utter chaos with cars parked on both sides of the street and a full carpark below. Is that what they want? If so, bugger them.

Mr McCabe seems to be playing politics with this - he wants to land "the blame" fairly and squarely onto Chris McEleney, the SNP and the local traders if, and when (?), the funding is withdrawn. Why else would he make his pre-emptive comments if something was not afoot.

I agree Jim, and the Gourock Bollockers..er Traders are playing right into his hands. In the end however, as I suspected all along, nothing will ever happen. Mr Toma however will continue to thrive and J Sainsbury will have a field day exploiting youngsters.
