www.inverclydenow.com/news/local/8742-anne-gets-top-job-at-hospiceAh, are we going to see an end to the money wasting hot chuckie stones and colour therapies and see a return to REAL hospice care? Is she going to end the repugnant practice of sending dying patients to Kincaid House? Ah (2), a supernurse who hasn't smelt a full bedpan for at least twenty years. Just what's needed, another high-flying non-entity who'll no doubt perpetuate the glossy magazine image of the Hospice whilst in the background, people about to breath their last are shunted up to Kincaid House. They have ALL forgotten why the Hospice was set up in the first place. All this, "It's not about dying, it's about living" shite makes me very angry. If you are dying and you are in pain and you are frightened and depressed you need to know that there is a place you can be where you will be cared for, your pain relieved and your death is gentle and quiet. Not much of that goes on there now coz most people are shoved up to Kincaid House and if you don't believe me, just take a look at the death notices, there's precious few end of life, 'events' in Nelson Street.
