Doesn't everybody wait too long at IRH? Only been once but 3 hours is a long time for anyone.

you want to try the southern general they gave me an appointment at 9:00am it was after 1:00 before i got seen, every time i go there its the same

i hate waiting...when polly had broken her hand and she had it plastered, we had to go back again for a check at 10am....we never got taken till 1pm...nightmare....

Back in the olden days when I worked in GRI's Casualty Department, we simply plodded through the list as quickly as we could. Sometimes it took hours and sometimes it went very smoothly. It just depends on what sort of patients you have at any given time.
Nowadays, we have this supposedly better system at IRH and other places where the ballsy, obnoxious receptionist, depending on her mood or whether she likes your face will pass your details to a nurse who will pass it another nurse who will then finish his or her knitting. After at least two hours, you will be called in to be triaged (assessed in normal language) and then you'll be left in a bare room for yet more hours until either yet another nurse or doctor of sometimes doubtful provenance will come along and babble at you.
You will have seen at least three people before your case is looked at by a doctor and then of course, if you are unlucky enough to have a fracture you will have to wait even longer before a cast can be fitted. People have been known to spend upwards of ten hours in this fashion.
And, whilst you wait, you will have a full programme of entertainment in the form of crazed junkies and drunks attended by their sub-human followers.
