Even in the glorious sunlit uplands of Eaglesham I can smell the stench of 'unusual' business practices from this.
First of all, the contract should NEVER have been awarded to Aikman. His previous business track record was enough to disqualify him but even more so, his lack of qualifications to operate a ferry service and the unbelievably dreadful catalog of serious failures in safety and marine regulation compliance should have ended the contract immediately. Why did it not???
We heard lots of praise for Aikman/Clydelink from that old, fat Thatcherite goat, Wilson but where is he now? Well apart from eating any pies or free food offered to him, he has said bugger all about this fiasco.
Well I'll tell you what I'd do, I'd make Wilson sail on this floating old chamber pot every morning throughout the winter and especially during stormy weather. Then we'd see just how much he thinks of Aikman and his coffin ship.
This smells of corruption and graft and it's high time SPT were disbanded and all those overpaid, 'transport executives' who go through £millions every year can feel the heavy hand of the JobCenterPLUS. Then we can invite Strathclyde Police in to take a closer look.
