There we go again, another white elephant with the usual suspects moving in to parts of it free of charge. Bloody CIGNA..."we'll only stay here if you build us another rent free office". This is an unacceptable waste of my money. We should all make objections to the application.
Somebody somewhere must rid us of this vile organisation. They are ALL bastards.

i havent been over that part of the town for some time but the last time i was there, there were a lot of offices empty...is it the same way now........what a waste of public money.....i could think of hundreds of things that the money could be spent on.......then again its not their money, its not coming out of their pockets so who cares that is their attitude

Yep, it's a huge, sprawling mass of semi-vacant buildings. Someone is making money of of it and NO mistake.

There's not enough space to build an Asda, no site locally large enough

We could knock down the Soak Mall, the Municipal Buildings (preferably when it is occupied) and Clyde Square? ?

We paid to build the bloody thing and then they sold it off at a knock down price to the property division of the Prudential who in turn sold it twelve months later for three times the amount. It has changed hands around three times since then.

There's not enough space to build an Asda, no site locally large enough Well at least one which Tesco's don't already own. The only area large enough locally is at span go valley, but that land is zoned for industrial use. No chance on getting planning permission. Where Tescos is now in portglasgow, was originally going to be a morrisons supermarket but they decided to take over the Safeway chain instead, so their interest in opening in port glasgow which was to be their second or third Scottish store disappeared.

I wonder how much Tesco paid to get all this, 'assistance'? In port Glasgow the developer, Gallagher, just went with the highest bidder which was Tescos, they would have paid anything to keep Asda out A friend of mine was working with Gallagher, on their behalf, the owner was up from Manchester to sign papers etc. man Utd had a big game on that evening and the paperwork signing was running a bit late. My pal asked him if he was going to game tonight and what time his flight was, as he would be cutting it fine to make the BA flight to Manchester. Gallagher guy says no worries, he'll get to game in plenty of time as the flight he was getting was on his own private jet no worries about queuing, security or any of that nonsense and he had a limo picking him up at Manchester to take him straight to the stadium
