Bugger all actually, wind turbines are perhaps the biggest con trick ever. The are simply not capable of generating anywhere near the power the companies claim and they are weather dependent. They are also very costly to maintain and as soon as the subsidies run out, the builders abandon them.
I know we need to find renewable power sources but in Scotland we ARE self-sufficient in energy thanks to Hydro power. We don't need our hills and glens disfigured and our wildlife disturbed by daft, hideous whirlygigs. Let's build another couple of Hydro stations but keep them in State ownership!!!!

will anything go back into state ownership, taking into consideration the contracts that have been made and the length of leases.....................me thinks it will be a long time before Scotland owns itself totally and I don't think it will happen in my lifetime

ok sam, I shall emphasis and try to be exact and precise. When I take the dog down to Lunderston bay and to my left there is a large chimney in full view, this blot on the landscape is commonly known as Inverkip power station ( not hunterston ) you shall have to excuse me, I have read the tele for so long, however to my front and my right the view is unrestricted......so far.
Sam if it was a shop I would have been spot on.

Forgive me Linda, that's pish. Your condition needs investigation, you are entitled to an appointment with 48 hours. You might not get who you want but at least the ball will get rolling. This is what happens when we are forced to hand over control of our practices to clerks.

i hate the service that is run now....i have tried phoning at 8am not to get an answer as the lines are busy so i leave it till 8.30 and all the appointments seem to have gone....this has happened many times and i just have to keep phoning till i get one.... its not the receptionists fault or the doctor's its just the way it is these days....sometimes your lucky and other times your not.........you cant make a forwarding appointment as i just tried so i have to phone back on monday morning again.....

Receptionists are NOT blameless. I once caught one ignoring the phone whilst she and her chums had a nice chat about some TV show. If you can't get an appointment by tomorrow, send a recorded delivery to the practice manager advising him or her that you intend advising the Trust board of there failures. You could also leave a message for Mike asking him to call you. Say that it's personal if asked why.
I am heartily sick of this kind of thing. When the patient eventually gets to see us, they blame us and rant and rave.

dont tell me folks take it out on the doctor's....its not their fault as folks cant get passed the receptionist... last week our daughter had an appointment for the doctor....not our practise....the card said 3.45pm so we wandered up and got in at 3.30pm and said to the girl we were early.....she was nasty to say the least and said no your late....the appointment was for 2.10pm.... we showed her the card and said look at it, the girl had written it out.....she didnt believe us and told us that the doctor wouldnt see my daughter as she was LATE....this was to get her diabetic results to see what level she was at....she had to make another appointment for a week later. i was raging but this isnt the first time this has happened that they make the mistakes but blame the patient....she must think we are daft....

Formal complaints are the way to deal with that kind of shite. My receptionists call me, 'Victor Meldrew' but NEVER to my face. We are all there for ONE thing, to look after our patients. I hate general practice.

This is the other side of the coin, went for my Tai Chi class at the IRH on Wed and was sitting thinking, "why is it so quite " off I go to find the nurse, I tell the nurse the reason why I am here and she goes to find out about the class.Nurse comes back and asks if I am sure of the time and I have to think for a wee minute and said maybe it is for 2 to 3pm instead of 1 to 2 pm.
There I am sitting for another hour and thinks, just go home and on the way go to the chemist and collect prescription...chemist shut.bell rings in head reminding me it is Wed.........Tai Chi is Tuesday.
People like me should not leave house alone, lol

Nonsense, you have far too much on your mind and need a wee break. You have become one of the forgotten people and it's a disgrace.
