I can't wait but what I also would love to know is how much in debt RI is over the Tall Shits. It'll be hushed up because of, 'commercial confidentiality'.

Yep, it just burst forth as I typed. You're right, we'll never get to the bottom of it unless..............a wee Freedom of Information request is made..Uncle Tiddles might just do that!

I fear I have overwhelming hatred of RI, I want to see them ALL brought down and brought to justice.

Yes, we had councillors who actually had to work at it rather than find overpaid little places on quangos and committees. I single out that old shite Wilson for particular criticism. Nasty old Tory worm.

the idea of councillors is to work for their community and not just for payments....a lot of them work in other jobs....

My grandfather was Provost in Port Glasgow, in those days coonsilurs got no payment whatsoever. As for expenses, you paid out your own pocket, occasionally the Town Clerk re-imbursed those, if you were lucky.
Even when he went to hospital board meetings, at Merchiston Hospital at Brookfield, ( for some reason that i cant remember this hospital was controlled by Port Glasgow)it was under his own steam

yea sam and that is the way it should be...if they want the job that much then do it without payment, i mean they are supposed to be there for the community. i remember meeting a friend of mine who got booted off the council at the elections...wont mention his name but when i met him in the town he was so sheepish...he was going to the job centre to sign on....this guy used to go on those trips abroad due to his position....the only trip he was going too was the DSS....he could hardly look at me when i was talking to him and couldnt wait to get away from me

Full time councilors, payments for when they lose their seats. Makes you want to throw up.
You want to be my councilor, fine don't take any money, just claim legit expenses, lets sort oot the wheat from the chaff

Yes, we need to look at it all again. It's now seen as a nice little earner and for the most part, they are people who would struggle to find real employment elsewhere.

I remember a certain cllr who lost his seat and had to sign on, never got a job, but still sits in the hope that he will be recalled one day.
