Rod, I think SPARRA is a quite a good idea in principal but it takes just one link in the chain to break and the whole thing falls apart.

Our family friends and cousins were always having kids so we always had to look after them to give them a wee break, I was looking after newborns by the time I was 10. Families are not the same now, they are not as close, for various reasons .
I think the americans have a good idea with their baby dolls that have to be fed changed cuddled and talk too all through the day and then up for feeds at night, and a wee computer records if the doll has not been changed fed or cuddled. Most of the young ones admited that they were ready to smash the doll off the wall.

i think that is a great idea and should be introduced here in secondary schools...it would make them realise that a baby isnt a toy or a way to get a wee house or benefit....
i had my daughter at 21yrs old, i was lucky as i was living with my parents after my seperation but i loved being a mum....i remember my mum worrying just incase i got fed up but she couldnt be anymore wrong....i new i had the backup if required but i never needed it but i new they were there for advice....it was a hard job, worrrying when she was ill...worrying about her going to school incase she got bullied like me, worried about what friends she was going with...worry worry worry....gosh she is 35yrs old and i still worry lol.....

"When you're the father of boys how you worry, but when you're the father of girls you do more than that, you pray"!!!! (Mike Douglas) Some years ago my then boss (who had two daughters) put it a tad more succinctly When you have sons you only have wan prick to worry about - when you have daughters you have to worry about hunnerz of them

"When you're the father of boys how you worry, but when you're the father of girls you do more than that, you pray"!!!! (Mike Douglas) I would suggest that instead of praying you get your hands on a big axe, just like me! OK my oldest is only 9, but still, the axe will come in handy when the suitors come around!

when my daughter had a wee girl her partner said no guy would ever tamper with his daughter and I just gave him the look that says it all....( aye that one ) I still give him the look but have to soften a bit as he did give me a grandaughter.
It amazes me that men don't mind tampering with someone else's daughter, but no one is to touch theirs lol
