Well in my very humble opinion, Nell has done a great deal for herself and McCorleone's taxis. The jury is out (out cold) as to what she ever did for her community. She has always been good for the Liebour Party who have used her shamelessly since she crawled out from her obscurity.

Well I started the thread and I make no apologies for doing so. Nell has been seeking the limelight for 20 years and has been a puppet of the Labour Party for all of those years. She has an unsurmountable ego and actually believes the hype the Tele spews out. She received an MBE for virtually doing nothing whilst others have given their whole lives in the service of the community and don't get so much as a mention.
Sure she's in her 80s but that alone doesn't make her beyond criticism. In fact, it is virtually impossible to find anyone with a good word to say about her but NEVER to her face, her arms are long and her vengeance is total.

there are many folks in greenock that go about their daily lives in private without the limelight...i new nellie many years ago but when i met her in a cafe not that long ago she hardly spoke to me....she new who i was but conversation was nil....
i always felt that an MBE shouldnt have been awarded to her as there are many people here do more than her....then again probably most of them wouldnt have accepted it

I agree that there are a number of people in Inverclyde that deserve recognition.
Reggie Scorer and Tommy from Greenock (the clown runner that does the Santa dash) to name but 2

And there are many people in the background who shun publicity but without whose help, the community would fall apart. I think the Honours system is deeply flawed and in its present form should be scrapped. Why should someone who has worked tirelessly for humanity be given a meaningless, 'Member of the Order of the British Empire' when rats from the commercial world get Knighthoods and Peerages? Remember SIR Fred Goodwin?  ? |

Bit fecking obvious Nell.....not got the time to spend reading her site as I have a dinner date this evening with the Bellamy-Thomsons (they're celebrating their little windfall from the National Trust - apparently if you let the peasants in to see your drawing rooms and ballroom between the months of April till October you get pots of cash !!! Would you believe it ? Gives me an idea for the West Wing here)......however she strikes me as being the Capt Manwaring sort of person.....

I think my wee mother would rather be strung up than get involved with that shower. She mortally detests Nell and all her conies. I have had to stop reading that website, it was making me scream with anger. I also just listened to her groaning on about energy prices on an old BBC radio thing. What would she know about it? She's NEVER bloody IN!!!!! I wonder what she did with her BBC fee?

My man has taken up service with the Bellamy-Thomsons !!!! can you believe it Here wa me thinking they wanted to celebrate celebrating their little windfall from the National Trust when they really wanted to rub my nose in the fact that they have a ruddy good beater on their payroll....I shall be writing to my MP! Did anyone else notice the poor import of the pic of the commitee from one pic onto another of them posing in clyde square ?? Jock - surely you noticed ? |
