It must take some skill to, 'berth' these wee models or do you walk out onto those spars?

It takes a bit of practice, but once you get the knack it's no problem

How deep is the dam?

Around 35-40 ft at it's deepest point.

That's quite a surprise.

It surprises a lot of people, the basic topography of the Dam is saucer/bowl shaped, gentle slopes out that suddenly give way to sharp drops.

I marvel at people who can build things like that. I have absolutely NO such skills, even putting up a picture is beyond me. I am a shady tradesman's dream customer.

I don't build myself tidds, the boats I have/had are traded around the various clubs.
Having said that I did do a conversation, changing a civilian tug in to it's French navy counterpart.
We do have some excellent builders at the club and it's a pleasaure to watch them work. I'll post some local builds in another thread along with the name of the builder.

Patience is a virtue, but truthfully it brought a smile as I remember my dad and room full of TVs and engines.

like the PT boats! and, is that a model type 42?
When will we see the Queen Elizabeth class Jocky boy?
I used to build model planes when I was young, had a F-15E that was about 2ft long, hated building the weapons platforms though, the young uns now have it easy, you cannae see the platform on the stealth planes

I remember visiting peas holm park in Scarborough. Some of the bigger boats did ave guys inside "piloting" them. They had a model f the Jervis Bay armed merchantman and re-enacted it's famous battle wae the Ardmiral Scheer pocket battleship. The planes did attack down long wires. www.peasholmpark.com/content/view/9/9/
