With Costa Coffee surely it is more of a pass through than a drive through...

I prefer little independent pharmacies and not the big lot who data mine and store your personal information and sell it off to insurance companies. A private chemist shop can establish a relationship with their customers too which the chains can't. We have a nice wee one in the village.

is that the wee chinaman? I loathe Lloyds, they shamelessly bribed Liebore ministers to allow them access. I hear they treat their locums dreadfully

Rankin Park was originally bought as recreational land for the employees of the new Harland and Wolff shipyard. The grounds were given over to a clubhouse and tennis and bowling facilities and was subsequently named, 'Pirie Park' after the chairman of H&W, Lord Pirie. H&W never came to anything and the Rankin family (Rankin and Blackmore's), two spinsters and a brother bought the entire site and it was renamed the Rankin Park. It was to be strictly for community and recreational use in perpetuity.
A few years ago, the lying bastards that are Inverclyde Liebore Party together with some shady, 'developers' earmarked it for commercial development and housing but it was struck down as not being compatible with the deed of gift. That's why it is an empty field. As far as I am concerned, it can ever remain so rather than become the source of quick buck for the one or two corrupt councillors and officials who sought to milk it.
The dear council has a long history of filching community property.

The Rankin park is well and truly being developed now, fenced of and full of diggers and tractors, so something is afoot. I also noted that they are digging deep where there is a burn, maybe they are going to put pipes in and cover the burn over, who knows.
