just incase no one has heard there are going to be some changes.... i received the UP CLOSE from riverclyde and when i read this i was shocked.....this is what it says. this is a government policy... we are all being hit with ATOS and then next year they are looking at DLA.....what are they going to do........MAKE US HOMELESS CAUSE WE CANT PAY IT.
HOW MUCH WILL THAT EXTRA BEDROOM COST ME? from the 1st april 2013 the government will restrict some housing benefit of working age claimants if they have a home with more bedrooms than they need. a deduction from housing benefit will be made for each extra bedroom, this means that tenants will need to make up this shortfall in their rent each week with their own money or savings.
the dept for work and pensions has confirmed that the deductions of housing benefit will be made at two rates, depending on the number of bedrooms by which a home is under occupied, these are. 14% for one bedroom and 25% for 2 bedrooms or more at the moment there are no clear rules regarding exemptions from this charge. if you think you may be affected by this then speak to a welfare benefits advisor

if you and your hubby and one kid stay in a 3 bedroom house i heard it was something like £17 a week because you dont need the other room , yes you do because your husband has his own room because of medical reasons or you have seperate room because he snores they are touching on human rights here i think

I think we really have to conclude that the Tories are practicing genocide by the back door. The English Home Counties put them there and I wish them joy of it.
Happily, large cracks are appearing in the jolly conspiracy that is the Coalition. Cleggy boy is on his way out and Vince Cable is poised to take over, then we'll see some changes!!!!!

there isnt many 1 bedroomed houses in greenock sam....were i live a they are all 2 bedroomed houses and most of our tenants are elderly so have family member;s staying overnight with them at times when they are ill...... so if there isnt enough one bedroomed houses does that mean that people are going to be on the street just because they cant afford to pay for the one bedroom spare.....hit folks when they are down....upset people that are ill by degrading them in ATOS medicals....then degrade them again next year with ATOS medicals since they are getting DLA and then force them to TRY and get one bedroomed houses that dont exist or pay....i dont think so.........
jocky doesnt keep well and its not the first time i have been using the spare room to sleep in....our daughter stays with us now so when pat is bad i sleep on the couch...so yes it is my right....i get little enough being a carer

But alas there's not much mileage in not scaremongering for some. Like me or anyone else we have a legal right to be provide, bu the coonsil, with a roof over yer head, there s no such right to get whatever you want or deserve on that front. I know of someone who rents his coonsil semi, it's a three bedroom job, he lives alone and freely admits he uses the bathroom, kitchen and one other room. He reps his telly in the bedroom. Well apart from being a weird fekker, he is ten times over, why should he not accept a smaller hoose instead, allowing his bigger hoose to be used by a bigger family . Personally I don't see the point in forcing people to move or penalising them fr over indulging

sam i am not jumping to conclusions, this was on a news book that we received through our door from riverclyde homes and it does tell you that this is a government thing that is coming about in april next year, what i put on the board is exactly what it said in the news letter....this has me extremely worried...i was quite happy reading away till i came to that bit and nearly dropped....folks will be told eventually once they get their news letters from the associations.....i am lucky that i got mine first and i am looking forward to seeing how many others get theirs and when.. it is not our faults that the associations build 2 and 3 bedroomed houses and then put people into them when a one does just as well.....maybe if they built one bedroomed houses that would be different but they dont......the only way you will get a one bedroomed house is if you go to a private let if your lucky and why should we do that... they are not talking about offering you other houses, they are telling us that YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY...

First of all Linda, I would take what Riverclyde Homes say witha pinch of salt - you usually do, until confirmed independently. If true - they would obviously have to give folks, who may want to move, the chance to do that before penalising anyone Liek a lot of stuff teh government promises, it may not even appear in its present form or even at all

They did say that if there is 2 bedrooms in a house and occupied by a single person unemployed etc that they are considering renting the other room out to another single person....................not good stuff sharing with a stranger.

I actually don't think this applies to Scotland and as to River Clyde Gnomes...tach...I wouldn't take the time of day from them without seeking a second opinion.
The Tories will ALWAYS be SCUM. "The nasty party has gone", yes so it has to be replaced by the demonic one. They are making Thatcher look like a saint.

Privately renting out flats is a business and like any other business you charge what you can get away with. If they can get £450 per month for their place well good luck to them Getting your rent paid for you by DSS/coonsil/state results in that being the usual rent in an area - the amount the state will pay varies from area to area - hence people in London getting huge rental costs paid by the state. Unfortunately the state can't take everyones' exact individual circumstances into play when deciding who gets what for rent and what type of place you should get

checked online last night....if your going for a private dwelling cause you cant get a house from the associations for god knows how long then you get a rent rebate for £250 and the cheapest place is £350 upwards which means that even if your unemployed and dont have much then you have to find the extra per month to go towards the rent....if you do get a house from the associations then you qualify for a full rebate....

I can assure you the going rate round here for a privately rented flat (paid by the benefits system is @ £350-£380) I know of folk who get this, I also know many folk who rent out houses and that is how much they get. It also varies from area to area, hence people in London getting big houses and £1500 a week rent benefit
